HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNTS
A Health Savings Account, known as an HSA, is an account allowing the account holder to save money for health care costs.Funds can be used to pay for qualified medical expenses such as doctor visits, prescription drugs, and qualified long-term care insurance. This account also offers tax advantages to the account holder. Members are eligible if they are covered under a High Deductible Health Care Plan and are not covered under another type of health care plan, if they are not enrolled in Medicare, and if they cannot be claimed as a dependent on another personís tax return.
